Questions and answers
How the site works, in case it is not obvious.
Do I need an account?
No. Browsing, searching, liking and downloading all work without one. You only sign in if you want to upload wallpapers as a creator.
Are the wallpapers free?
Yes, all of them. The site is paid for by the advertising on it, which is why there is a short wait before a download.
Why do I have to wait ten seconds to download?
The wallpaper is free but the bandwidth is not. The advertisement shown during that wait is what pays for it. The count always ends, and you can close it and carry on browsing if you would rather not wait.
Where did my favourites go?
Favourites are saved in the browser you used, not in an account. They disappear if you clear your browsing data, and they do not follow you to another browser, another phone, or a private window. There is no account to sign into for them — that is the trade for not having to sign up.
How do I set a wallpaper on my phone?
Download it, then open your phone's Photos or Gallery app, find the image, and use its "Set as wallpaper" option. There are step-by-step guides for each kind of phone. The WallStand app will do it in one tap when it lands — it is coming to both stores.
What is the difference between HD and 4K?
HD is 1080×1920, which is right for most phones. 4K is 2160×3840, which is sharper on a large or high-resolution screen and is a bigger file. Not every wallpaper has a 4K version, and some older ones are smaller than HD. Each wallpaper's page shows its real size.
Can I use these commercially?
No. They are for your own devices. Selling them, putting them in another app or wallpaper pack, or redistributing them is not allowed — see the terms.
Who owns the wallpapers and ringtones?
Their creators. WallStand is the platform they share them on; we do not own them. The name under each one is the creator who shared it.
How do I become a creator?
Go to the creator page and sign in with Google. That is the whole sign-up. We review and approve your uploads before they appear, and published ones carry your name with a link back to your page.
How long does a review take?
Usually a day or two. You will see the outcome on your own dashboard, and if something is turned down you will be told why.
Something is wrong, or that is my photo
Open the wallpaper and use Report this wallpaper, under its download count. Pick a reason and we’ll write the report for you — you send it from your own email, so our reply comes back to you. For anything that is not about one wallpaper, see support.
